Inspector Jennifer Bluhm with the OSPCA says it’s a hard thing to admit, but it needs to be done.
“It’s not that every dog that comes from a dog fighting operation isn’t capable of being rehabilitated, says Bluhm. Rehabilitation is always our first priority. We always have to be looking out for the safety of the community the safety of people of animals and the dogs themselves. These dogs were bread and trained to fight and kill.”
Bluhm says an exhaustive assessment of each animal has taken place.
The organization “Dog Tales” disagrees and says all the animals should be saved. The fate of the animals will be decided next month in a Chatham court room.
