18 dogs seized in the 2015 Tilbury dog fighting ring investigation are headed stateside.
A Chatham judge is ordering the dogs surrendered to the Ontario SPCA and then taken to a rehabilitation facility in Florida.
OSPCA spokesperson Jennifer Bluhm, Deputy Chief of the OSPCA says another assessment was done in May.
“In that assessment they did indicate that 18 dogs were suitable for continued enrichment and assessment so please remember these dogs have not been cleared for re-homing,” says Bluhm. “It’s still the OSPCA position that the prognosis is still very guarded.while in our care they showed a range of behaviours from extremely aggressive to unpredictable.”
The four people charged in the ring still have to stand trial for more than 100 charges in connection to the alleged ring
