A man and a woman have both been charged following a domestic dispute in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said an argument between a man and a woman escalated Sunday evening when the man assaulted the woman at a McNaughton Avenue home.
The woman left in her vehicle and returned after officers had arrived at the scene, shortly after 10:55 p.m. Believing she had been driving while under the influence of alcohol, the woman was arrested and taken to police headquarters for breath tests.
The man was later located and arrested at around 3:06 a.m. on Monday.
A 43-year-old Chatham woman is now charged with driving with a blood alcohol content over the legal limit.
A 57-year-old Chatham man has also been charged with assault.
Both have been released from custody with conditions and future court dates.
