Domestic Dispute Leads to Charges in Harwich Township

A domestic dispute in Harwich Township has landed one man with charges.

Police were called to a Chatham Street home late yesterday afternoon.

According to investigators, a man and woman got into a fight. The man initially left the home, then came back, kicked in the front door, and damaged a number of doors and kitchen appliances. The suspect then allegedly threw the woman to the ground and attacked her with scissors. He left again, damaging the woman’s car on his way off the property.

Police say the accused was already under a court order to remain in a house in Tara, near Owen Sound.

The 34-year-old was tracked down and is now facing charges of break and enter, assault, mischief, failing to comply with a release order, and two counts of assault with a weapon. He was taken to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
