An organization that supports visually impaired Canadians is warning residents not to be taken in by a scam.
The Canadian Federation of the Blind has had several reports lately of donation boxes being set up in their name in provinces across the country, most recently in southern Ontario.
The display, which has reportedly been spotted in Chatham-Kent, includes a donation request on CFB letterhead and a poster depicting a person in a wheelchair with a white cane and a guide dog.
However, the Federation says they work hard to fight stereotypes, and the poster is offensive.
Anyone who comes across a similar display is urged to contact the organization to report it.
