Downward COVID Trend Continues, 101 Active Cases

Another dip in Chatham-Kent’s COVID cases, down to 101 active today.

Officials with Public Health say there were nine new infections reported this morning along with 12 cases resolved.

Seven outbreaks remain active, six of which are in schools across Chatham-Kent.

There are seven active cases of the virus at Wallaceburg District Secondary School, although no outbreak has been declared.

All schools in both the Lambton Kent and St Clair Catholic board remain open.

At the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, there are 9 patients being treated for COVID-19, five of whom are Chatham-Kent residents.

Five COVID patients are in intensive care.

ICU occupancy is holding steady at 80%, while the hospital’s medical, surgical, and critical care beds are 95.5% full.
