The 2016 Sydenham Challenge Dragon Boat Festival delighted thousands of people in Wallaceburg over the weekend.
The annual event has been going strong for 15 years and Mary Williston has been paddling with the Breast Buddies the whole time.
“This is a special one for a lot of us , we’ve look at what’s behind us and what’s ahead of us. The festival helps financially with the community and Brest Buddies as well,” says Williston. “They coach each other, they call each other, you’re having a problem, we’re here. It’s not just about the paddling. The exercise is excellent, the support is more important.”
Roughly $20,000 is raised annually and is split between the breast buddies team and the United Way.
