Dress Purple to Support Children in Need

Chatham-Kent residents are being invited to wear purple this Thursday to support children in need in the community.

Organized locally by Linck Child, Youth and Family Supports, the province-wide Dress Purple Day campaign highlights the crucial role community plays in protecting children and supporting families before challenges turn into crises.

“Supporting children and families is not the responsibility of one organization alone. It takes all of us – neighbours, educators, caregivers, service providers, employers and community leaders – working together to ensure families know where to turn when they need support,” said Marianne Willson, Linck Board Chair, in a news release.

Under this year’s theme, “It Takes a Community,” Linck is calling on local schools, businesses, and neighbours to wear purple, share prevention resources, and help ensure local youth know where to turn when they need help.
