Drinks At Wallaceburg Restaurant End In Charges

A Wallaceburg woman is facing charges after allegedly drinking too much at a local restaurant and getting behind the wheel.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service received a report at around 2 p.m. on Wednesday regarding an intoxicated patron who was seen exiting a restaurant on McNaughton Avenue before leaving in a vehicle.

Officers located and stopped the vehicle on Bluewater Line. The driver was arrested and taken to police headquarters for testing.

The 32-year-old suspect provided breath samples which registered over the legal limit.

As a result, the Wallaceburg woman has been charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit. She was later released with a scheduled court date.
