Several charges have been laid after a vehicle was deliberately forced off the road by another vehicle in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said a man called police on Thursday at around 8:15 p.m., to report that he was being chased by a vehicle following a dispute with the driver.
The victim said the driver rear-ended his vehicle on St. Clair Street before pulling alongside and forcing it off the roadway. While the victim’s vehicle was damaged, he did not require medical assistance.
With help from the Ontario Provincial Police, officers located a suspect in connection with the incident at a gas station in Brigden where he was transferred into the custody of CK police.
A 19-year-old Chatham man is now charged with dangerous operation, assault with a weapon, uttering threats, failing to remain at the scene of a collision, and failing to report a collision. The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
