A Brampton man and the trucking company he works for have been charged following a tractor-trailer crash on Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent.
The Ontario Provincial Police said on Wednesday at around 8:16 a.m., a westbound tractor-trailer struck another tractor-trailer that was stopped on the shoulder of the highway just west of Chatham.
The driver of the stopped vehicle was treated at the scene for minor injuries and one westbound lane of the 410 was closed temporarily to allow for the removal of the vehicles.
As a result of the crash, a 51-year-old Brampton man is charged with careless driving, failing to maintain a daily log and exceeding 13 hours of driving time without eight hours off.
The trucking company is also charged with failing to monitor the driver’s compliance with regulations.
