Drug Bust at Residence on Walpole Island First Nation

Three people are facing charges after a drug bust on Walpole Island.

Officers with the Lambton OPP and Walpole Island Police Service raided a home on Tecumseh Road yesterday, seizing suspected fentanyl, hydromorphone, and methamphetamine, as well as drug packaging materials, scales, and $4200 in cash.

Three Walpole Island residents, in their mid-to-late 30s were arrested on trafficking charges.

Two of the accused were released with a date in court next month. One was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Walpole Island Chief Charles Sampson and Police Portfolio Councilor Ron Soney have been meeting with the OPP at the Lambton Headquarters on a regular basis over the last few months. Soney says they continue to assess the situation of drug activity and develop a strategy to move forward with aggressive action.
