A Dresden man is facing several drug and weapons-related charges.

Officers with the Chatham-Kent Police Intelligence Unit, with support from the Emergency Response Team, carried out a search warrant at a Holden Street home shortly after 6 o’clock Wednesday morning.

A search of the property turned up a crossbow, ammunition, and a collapsible baton, as well as suspected cocaine and methamphetamine, among other items.

A 70-year-old man was arrested at the scene and has since been charged with two counts of possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order, and two counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
