Drunk in Public

A Chatham man spend some time behind bars after a confrontation at a Chatham liquor store.

Chatham-Kent Police officers were called to the Wellington Street LCBO shortly before 3 o’clock Tuesday afternoon and say the man was refused service and allegedly became argumentative with staff.

Authorities claim the man was intoxicated when they found him and unable to care for himself.

The 75-year-old was arrested for public intoxication and taken to police headquarters, where he was held in custody until he sobered up.
