An arrest has been made after a woman was injured during a domestic dispute in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to an intimate partner violence incident on Sheldon Avenue shortly after midnight on Friday.
Authorities said a man had consumed a significant amount of alcohol and became aggressive towards his partner. The woman was assaulted when an argument escalated, and she suffered a facial injury that required medical attention.
As a result, a 40-year-old Chatham man was arrested and is now charged with one count of assault. He was later released from custody with an August court date.
