A less than friendly visitor is facing charges after a weekend incident in Chatham.
Chatham-Kent Police were called to a Grand Avenue West home shortly after 4 o’clock Monday morning.
Authorities say the victim was visiting a friend’s home when a man confronted them, threatened the victim with a knife, and demanded he hand over the contents of his pockets.
Officers were able to track down the accused at his own home. A search turned up suspected cocaine and investigators say the man was already bound by a court order prohibiting him from having any weapons.
The 36-year-old is charged with robbery, failing to comply with a release order, and possession of a controlled substance.
He was taken to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
