A Chatham man is facing impaired driving charges following a traffic stop in Wallaceburg.
An officer with the Walpole Island Police Service on general patrol stopped a vehicle in the parking lot of a McNaughton Avenue business at around 2:15 a.m. on Sunday.
The driver was arrested and taken to the Lambton County OPP detachment for tests.
As a result, a 39-year-old Chatham man was arrested and is now charged with impaired driving, driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit, and driving with an open container of liquor. He was also issued a 90-day driver’s licence suspension and his vehicle will be impounded for seven days.
The accused will answer the charges in court next month.
