Election Day is October 22nd so that means it will be nearly three months of door knocking, and hand shaking for a large slate of candidates.
There are six people running for the mayor’s office, and 45 candidates for a seat on council.
There will be a candidates’ information night on August 1st to lay down the ground rules. While campaign signs can now be put up on private property, nominees can’t place signs on public property until August 24th.
Internet voting will run from October 1st to the 14th and early voting will run from October 11th to 13th.
Other than that, the candidates will have to lace up their running shoes and hit every chicken dinner, fair, art exhibit and large gathering between now and then, not to mention the yet-to-be scheduled all candidate debates.
It’s going to be a very busy three months.
