St. Clair College will be conducting tests of its emergency communication system over the next three weeks at its campuses in Windsor and Chatham.
The college has been working with local police to hold three emergency communication scenarios of an “active attacker.”
The first test scenario will be held at the Downtown Campus on Tuesday at 10:15 p.m. Another will be held at the South Campus on April 6, and then another at the Chatham Campus on April 13.
During each day of the communications exercises, there will be test messaging on the school’s Alertus emergency communication app, social media, and PA systems where available.
A pre-message will be sent five minutes before the test emergency message. A message will also be sent out 15 after the test emergency to indicate the scenario has ended.
The college is reminding all staff and students that this will be a communication exercise only, and no one is expected to run, hide or fight.
