English Catholic Board Releases Back to School Plan

With just over a week to go until classes resume, the St Clair Catholic District School Board has released its back to school plan.

Officials say the document follows the advice and guidance from the Ministry of Education and public health officials in Chatham-Kent and Sarnia Lambton.

“Our priority is the health, safety and well-being of our students and staff,” says Deb Crawford, Director of Education.  “As always, we wish to thank our public health partners for their tremendous assistance, as together we work to support the health, safety and well-being of our students, staff and families.”

Those opting for face-to-face learning from senior kindergarten to grade 12 will start classes full-time on Tuesday, September 7th, JK students will have a gradual entry September 8th and 9th, with all students attending by Friday, September 10th.

Remote learning for all grade levels begins September 7th.

Everyone will have to complete a self- screening before coming to school, and masks will be worn indoors and on student transportation by students in grades 1 through 12. Masks are encouraged but not mandatory for those in kindergarten.

As with the pandemic itself, officials say the back to school plan may evolve and change as necessary to keep staff and students safe.
