Entegrus Offering Management Support to E.L.K. Energy

A local utility is lending a hand to a neighbouring community.

Entegrus has announced it will be providing contracted management services to E.L.K. Energy in Essex County.

After the retirement of E.L.K.’s former CEO, the Board of Directors decided to team up with a new partner while it conducts a strategic review.

“The Board is committed to being responsive to community needs and finding a solution for the Town of Essex and the customers E.L.K. serves,” stated Mayor Sherry Bondy, Chair of the E.L.K. Board of Directors. “Entegrus brings a vast level of experience and, together with E.L.K. employees, the contract promises to move E.L.K. in a positive direction through improved levels of customer service and asset management.”

E.L.K. Energy is wholly owned by the Corporation of the Town of Essex and operates much like a private entity under the Ontario Business Corporations Act.

Mayor Sherry Bondy says the management services contract between the companies offers the time the Board needs to complete its strategic review and provide a thorough recommendation to the Shareholder.

“Entegrus operates with strong values that guide us to be a safe, sustainable, customer- and community-focused utility,” stated Jim Hogan, President and CEO, Entegrus Inc. “The combined expertise and dedication of both the E.L.K. and Entegrus employees will ensure customers and communities benefit from increased resources, knowledge and industry experience,” added Hogan.
