Environment Canada Predicts Cold February

It’s Groundhog Day, and it seems winter will be around a little bit longer.

Wiarton Willie emerged from his burrow this morning and saw his shadow, predicting six more weeks of winter, and Environment Canada meteorologist Geoff Coulson seems to have done the same.

“Certainly it looks like we’re going to agree with Wiarton Willie. From all the data we’re looking at, it looks like overall February is going to be colder than normal, and it looks like we have a lot more winter weather left to go”, Coulson says.

Back in the fall, Environment Canada predicted a harsher winter than last year, and Coulson says we are holding steady with that pattern.
