SUMMARY:Small Town Players presents the Zoom Live Theatre Production of “Happy Hour”\,
DESCRIPTION:January 10th\, 2021 – Live Theatre is coming back to Chatham-Kent (Well\, kind of…)! Small Town Players presents the Zoom Live Theatre Production of “Happy Hour”\, an original script from local playwright John Gardiner and directed by Christa Pare. \nAuditions will take place via Zoom the week of January 25th\, 2021. We are looking for 2 male actors and 2 female actors aged 50-70. Due to Covid-19 restrictions\, rehearsals will be via Zoom but the final rehearsals and show will be live on Zoom in the spring (following Covid-19 protocols). \nWe are also looking for production support including an Assistant Producer\, publicity\, sets and costumes. \nThis Zoom play is a “first of its kind” production in the Chatham-Kent area and is a unique and creative way to present live theatre during Covid-19. \nTo schedule a Zoom audition time\, please contact Christa Pare at 1-613-330-5757\, email smalltownplayers@yahoo.com. \nAbout “Happy Hour” – The brand\, new piece of Canadian theatre\, Happy Hour\, sees playwright John Gardiner examining life through the eyes of four protagonists\, a long-time married couple and a long-time divorced couple. The story follows them through a weekend of heavy drinking and discussions that cascade through a range of life experiences and reminiscences of years gone by. No punches are pulled as they renew acquaintances….. \nAbout the Playwright – John Gardiner spent his career as an editor in the community newspaper business. His short stories have been compared to those of Canadian writing icon Alice Munro and Charles Bukowski. He recently published a literary collection\, Memories for Sale\, and has been on the road promoting it since 2017. “Happy Hour” will be the first of Gardiner’s plays to be produced. \nAbout the Director – Christa Pare spent her career as a Radio Announcer and just recently moved back to Chatham after being away for many years.
