An Owen Sound resident is facing several charges for allegedly driving at excessive speeds and crashing into a guardrail on Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent.
The Ontario Provincial Police said on Friday at around 11:09 a.m., officers spotted a vehicle travelling 163 km/h in a 100 km/h zone. Before being pulled over, the driver abruptly changed lanes, lost control of the vehicle and collided with the highway guardrail.
The driver was not injured.
A 25-year-old from Owen Sound is now charged with stunt driving and careless driving. The driver was also issued a 30-day driver’s suspension and the vehicle will be impounded for 14 days.
