Extended Flood Watch in Effect

High water levels have prompted an extended flood watch.

The Essex Region Conservation Authority says the flood watch will be in effect until June 15th, with low-lying beach communities and shoreline areas along Lake St. Clair, the Detroit River, and Lake Erie being of particular concern.

Officials say over the last month, both Lake St Clair and Lake Erie have risen about 20 cm, bringing an elevated risk of flooding and erosion across the watershed.
