Fairfield Park Receives Provincial Funding Boost

Fairfield Park long term care home, Wallaceburg.

Fairfield Park in Wallaceburg is getting a boost in provincial funding.

It’s one of several long term care facilities in the region that will share in a $673-million announcement from Ford Government.

The funding is earmarked for increasing staffing levels and improved care for seniors.

“Everyone in our community deserves dignified healthcare that meets their specific needs,” said Monte McNaughton, MPP for Lambton-Kent-Middlesex. “That is why our government is making unprecedented investments to help people stay in their homes longer and, when they do need to move out, ensures they receive the hands-on attention and care they deserve.”

Fairfield Park’s share of the funding totals $837,252.

“We know that more qualified staff means more daily care for residents,” said Paul Calandra, Minister of Long-Term Care. “Hiring more staff is part of our government’s plan to fix long-term care and to improve the quality of care residents receive and the quality of life they experience.”
