Faked Benefits Claims Lead to Charges

Charges have now been laid in connection to a fraud investigation dating back several months.

Chatham-Kent Police were contacted by a benefits provider on April 9th after a man allegedly submitted a number of claims in excess of $8000 that were proven to be fake.

Tuesday, the accused was found and arrested, and charged with fraud over $5000.

HE was released from custody with conditions and a date in court next month.
