A trio of bridges in southwestern Ontario are now officially dedicated in memory of three fallen OPP officers.
Constables Randall Chatterson and Garry MacDonald, who were partners in the 70s, lost their lives in a collision while on patrol.
The bridge on Highway 402 at Forest Road is dedicated to Constable Chatterson, and the bridge on Highway 21 at the Ausable River overpass is dedicated to Constable MacDonald.
The Oil Heritage Road overpass on Highway 402 is in memory of Constable William Rodgers who lost his life while directing traffic at an accident scene during a snowstorm in the winter of 1970.
Memorial signs have been posted on each side of these bridges, with the names of the officers and the police service crest.
