Fallen Tree Branches Knock Out Power

Entegrus power outage map.

Hundreds of Chatham-Kent residents spent at least part of the night in the dark.

A storm system moved across the area overnight, with high winds bringing down several trees, primarily in the Chatham area.

Officials with Entegrus say over 120 residents in Chatham lost power due to trees making contact with power lines, while as many as 150 Tilbury residents were left in the dark because of equipment failure.

It’s expected the majority of customers should have power restored by 10 o’clock this morning, while a few dozen on the south side of the Thames River may not have their lights back until early this afternoon.
