False Alarm, Real Charges

It isn’t the most common offence, but charges have been laid for pulling a fire alarm not once, but twice this week.

Yesterday morning, a man at police headquarters pulled the alarm after allegedly getting some advice he didn’t like from one of the officers.

Then just before 3 this morning, emergency crews were called to Grand Retirement Village on Ursuline Avenue in Chatham.

A 37-year-old man was found in the parking lot and admitted to pulling the fire alarm.

Both men are now facing charges of setting off a false alarm.
