Family Dog Avoids Harm In Fire

Firefighters made quick work of a house fire on Dunkirk Dr. in Chatham Thursday.

Crews from station one and two responded in the afternoon, along with EMS.

In a tweet, Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Services reported that a dog was in the home and had to be given oxygen at the scene.

The canine was checked out by a local vet and was given a clean bill of health. 

No human injuries were reported.

No word on cause or damage at this point.
