The Chatham-Kent Children’s Safety Village is hoping to prevent childhood injuries on the farm.
Today marks the third annual Farm Safety Day, with lessons on everything ranging from animal safety to chemicals and ATV accidents.
Statistics show that agriculture is Canada’s fourth most hazardous industry, with an average of 84 fatalities on farms each year.
Today’s event is geared towards kids aged four through 12 – a similar program is held each winter for grade six students.
