The investigation continues following a tragic collision on Lake St Clair.
According to Lakeshore OPP, emergency crews responded to a collision involving a single personal watercraft near Couture Beach in the Municipality of Lakeshore around 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon.
Four people were rescued from the lake. A 17-year-old girl was rushed to hospital but later pronounced dead.
A second girl, aged 16, was also taken to hospital then air-lifted to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.
Two others girls, aged 15 and 17, were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team is assisting Essex County OPP Marine Unit and members from the Lakeshore OPP Detachment with the investigation.
