A five year jail sentence has been handed to a Chatham woman in connection to a deadly crash near Wallaceburg.
Sarah Suitor was behind the wheel when she collided head-on with another vehicle on Highway 40 near Heritage Line on March 8, 2020, claiming the lives of 88-year-old William Hills of Sarnia and his 87-year-old wife Rose.
The now 41-year-old pleaded guilty to two counts of impaired driving causing death this past April.
In court on Thursday, Justice Robert Horton sentenced Suitor to five years behind bars followed by a five-year driving ban, and an order to access drug and alcohol counselling and mental health services while serving her sentence.
