Fifth Street Bridge Completion Delayed

Construction on the Fifth Street bridge is delayed until June 2018.

It was originally scheduled to be completed this December, but due to unforeseen delays, the bridge will remain closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic for another 7 months.

The Engineering and Transportation division says complications with the demolition schedule and minor design changes are the reason for the delay.

With winter around the corner, construction will shut down in January, and will resume in the spring.
