Fine Laid After Dog Attack

A Wallaceburg man is facing a hefty fine after a dog attack earlier this year.

According to animal control, the incident happened back in April – a dog bit a man, leaving him with a significant hand injury, including a broken finger and a wound that needed stitches.

The owner was charged under the Dog Owner’s Liability Act and Chatham-Kent Responsible Animal Ownership Bylaw, and was found guilty in court this week.

The 30-year-old Wallaceburg man will have to pay over $1500, keep his dog muzzled whenever it is outside, and ensure the animal is always under control when off its own property.
