Some tense moments in Tilbury.

Fire fighters were called to a Queen Street South residence shortly after 1 o’clock Wednesday afternoon after crews digging on the property came upon an oil-like substance.

Hazmat support from Windsor Fire and Rescue was also brought in and the road was closed.

Testing of the substance showed it was low hazard, allowing the contractor to begin clean-up.

Fire officials say fire fighters visited residents in the area to reassure them there was no risk to the public.
