No injuries have been reported following a fire at the Gable Rees Rotary Pool in Blenheim.
Emergency crews responded to the pool on Regent Street just after 5 o’clock Thursday afternoon and say flames and thick, black smoke were seen coming out of one of the change rooms.
Fire fighters contained the blaze to the shower area. Crews remained on the scene into the evening to clear the smoke and work with fire investigators.
The cause has been listed as accidental, although no damage estimate has been released.
The pool remains closed today.
