Damage is pegged at $350,000 following a mobile home fire on Chatham’s south side.

Crews responded to the South Side Estates on Charing Cross Road near Doyle Line around 6:15 Tuesday evening with flames and heavy smoke spotted coming from the detached dwelling.

Four surrounding units also suffered heat damage.

No injuries have been reported and the cause has been listed as accidental.

The blaze has prompted fire officials to issue a reminder to other homeowners to stay in the kitchen while cooking, and ensure any flammable materials, including oven mitts, food packaging, towels, and curtains are kept away from the stovetop.
