The future of fire fighting in Chatham-Kent will be up for discussion at tonight’s council meeting.

The 2024 Fire Master Plan will be presented to council tonight. The report, along with a Chatham-Kent Community Risk Assessment, has been a work in progress since 2020, with Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency collaborating with staff from Dillon Consulting.  The CRA was presented to council in June, 2022, and initial findings from the Fire Master Plan followed suit in October, 2023.

The full report is a blueprint intended to provide a strategic framework to guide the delivery of fire protection services within the community over the next ten years, including goals and strategies to deliver fire protection with the most effective and efficient level of service.
