A search of a Chatham home has landed a local man with several charges.
Police got a call this week that the accused was illegally in possession of some weapons. Officers executed a warrant at the home early this morning, seizing a 50-calibre rifle.
The 24-year-old has now been charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless storage of a firearm and possession of a firearm, contrary to a Prohibition Order. He was also arrested on outstanding warrants for uttering threats, possession of ammunition contrary to a Prohibition Order and failing to attend court.
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
