The YMCA of Chatham-Kent is putting a new spin on an annual fundraiser to ensure every family can afford to send their child to camp.

For several years, the local chapter of the YMCA has run its Fill the Bus CAMPaign to raise money to send kids to summer camp, regardless of their financial barriers.

This year, the YMCA is also partnering with Mainstreet Credit Union to host its first-ever PUSH the BUS fundraiser on July 7 during Chatham Ribfest in Tecumseh Park. The contest will see teams of six compete to see who can push a school bus along a 100-meter track the fastest.

The entry fee is $200 per team which is enough to send one child to camp.

Teams can pre-register at the front desk of the YMCA of Chatham-Kent or by clicking here. Participants can also register in person at Chatham Ribfest on July 6. The event kicks off the following day at 11 a.m.
