Flu Season Has Arrived

With the impending arrival of the colder months also comes cold and flu season.

Joanne Wytinck is a public health nurse and says anyone over the age of six months should be getting a flu shot.

“The more people who are immunized against the flu, it helps protect the whole population, especially vulnerable people – children, people who have medical conditions.”

Wytinck says while there aren’t flu shot clinics in Chatham-Kent anymore, the shots are available at all health care providers and local pharmacies.

Anyone who doesn’t already have family doctor can call the public health unit to make an appointment.
