The province wide initiative focuses on all the products that are grown by your neighbours, right here in our community, like the Jennen Family Farm Market in Wabash.
Ellen Jennen says it’s not just local residents that are interested in local food.
“We’ve been actively shipping to Metro. We went to the GTA the last few days dropping our product off. They are really keen in getting into local food, their stores are all over the GTA and our area as well,” says Jennen. “And they want to have local food and they promote it in their stores as well.”
There are more than two-thousand farms in Chatham-Kent that grow more than 70 different types of crops.
