MPP’s met at Queens Park today and voted to extend the Declaration of Emergency until June 2nd.
This will allow for the continuation of enforcement of current emergency orders.
The declaration will allow Ontario to continue to enforce current emergency orders, such as restricting retirement and long-term care home employees from working in more than one facility and prohibiting events and gatherings of more than five people.
The original declaration was March 17th.
The expenditure estimates for 20-21 were also tabled showing the spending related to the 17 billion dollars announced as part of the provinces response to COVID-19.
