A former municipal councillor and one of the architects of the amalgamated Chatham-Kent has passed away.

Neil Seney served on Raleigh Township council in the 90s, and held the position of Deputy Reeve, and was a member of the transition board for the amalgamation of Chatham-Kent.

In his obituary, Seney is remembered as a man who love to talk farming and reminisce about his years of growing tomatoes for Campbell Soup.

He was also a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

The 84-year-old passed away on Tuesday from injuries suffered in a car crash.

A funeral service will be held at St Paul’s Congregational Church on Saturday.
