
More than $160,000 worth of illicit drugs have been taken off the streets and multiple people have been arrested following a bust in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said members of the Intelligence Unit and Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant at a residence in Chatham shortly after 9 a.m. on Tuesday, September 9. A second warrant was also executed on a 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross rental vehicle.
Authorities have not provided where in Chatham the drug bust occurred.
During a search of the residence, officers seized 319 grams of fentanyl, 193 grams of cocaine, 605 grams of methamphetamine, and 236 grams of heroin, along with numerous hydromorphone, nabilone, and Clonazepam tablets. The estimated street value of the drugs is around $160,800.
Police also seized a loaded 9mm Glock handgun, digital scales, packaging material, and a large quantity of Canadian currency.
A 31-year-old Chatham man, a 49-year-old Chatham woman, and two men from Kitchener, aged 27 and 23, were all arrested at the scene.
They are all charged with seven counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition, unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless storage of a firearm, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
All four were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
