Fraud Charges Laid in Chatham

An arrest has been made in connection to a months-long fraud investigation.

Chatham-Kent Police were initially contacted on January 6th. The victim had lost their wallet, containing cash, two cheques, credit cards, and other ID, a few months earlier, and one of the cheques had since been altered and cashed.

Authorities obtained banking information and formed grounds to charge a suspect.

Late Monday morning, a woman was arrested and charged with forging documents and fraud under $5000. She was released with conditions and a date in court next month.
