Fuel Tanker Goes Up In Flames

A fuel tanker fire Tuesday evening caused nearly half a million dollars damage.

Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Services had 3 stations on hand to fight the fire near Prairie Siding at Grande River Line and Jacob Road.

The fire broke out in the cab but the driver escaped uninjured.

An evacuation was ordered for nearby residents while firefighters brought it under control.

They were allowed home again a couple of hours later.

No injuries reported.

The damage estimate is $480,000 dollars.
