Pediatric health services in Ontario are getting a funding boost in an effort to ensure children and youth have access to care in every corner of the province.
The Ontario government plans to invest an additional $330 million each year to fund more than 100 high-priority initiatives that will connect children and youth to emergency care, surgeries, ambulatory services, diagnostic imaging, and mental health services.
The funding increase will allow hospitals, clinics and community-based health care facilities to increase staffing, reduce wait times, and increase the number of people that can be seen and cared for.
This investment also includes up to $45 million from the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services for children’s rehabilitation services, such as occupational therapy, physiotherapy and speech and language services.
